Privacy Policy
Media and local information
The app processes the camera frames and, when permitted, microphone audio needed for your chosen recording. It can also process images or videos you select for a composition. Saving work in the app creates local media files, thumbnails, and a gallery manifest containing identifiers for local items, filenames, creation dates, media type, and aspect ratio. Capture, composition, display, and purchase-access preferences are also stored locally.
The local gallery is app storage, rather than a view of every item in your system Photos library. Processing can create temporary recording, import, composition, and export files. These are used on the device; they are not automatically sent to the developer or a remote AI service.
Permissions and selected imports
- Camera: used for the capture modes you initiate. Declining prevents affected camera functions.
- Microphone: used to record audio with video. Declining restricts capture functions that require it.
- Photos: saving photos or videos to Apple Photos requests add-only access. Duet import uses Apple's system picker to provide the item you select; it does not give the app unrestricted access to the library. The system may retrieve a selected item from your own iCloud Photos account.
Change available system permissions in iOS Settings. SplitCam does not request location, contacts, health, or advertising-tracking access in the current version. It does not use an advertising identifier.
Gallery, Photos, exports, and backups
The app can keep captured work in its own gallery and save separate copies to Apple Photos. Gallery deletion attempts to remove the media and thumbnail files and updates the local gallery list and manifest. These separate operations can fail; a removed gallery entry is not proof that every underlying file has been erased, and there is no guaranteed cleanup retry or in-app Recently Deleted recovery. Deletion does not remove copies already saved to Photos, shared, or exported. Removing the app normally removes its app-container media, but does not remove Photos items or independent files. Manage those copies separately, including any system Recently Deleted area where applicable.
Apple Photos may synchronize saved media through iCloud Photos according to your settings. Ordinary iCloud or computer-managed device backups may include app-container files; completion and restoration depend on your settings and a usable backup. A file you share through the system share sheet goes to the recipient or service you choose. These system or user-directed transfers differ from an app-operated upload service. Media may contain faces, voices, and private surroundings, so review the content and destination before sharing.
Local media remains until you delete it or lose access to app storage. Temporary files may be removed by app cleanup or iOS; they are not a durable backup. We cannot retrieve your recordings from a developer-operated server, and deleting app data does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Apple purchases and diagnostics
Apple StoreKit handles monthly and yearly subscriptions, a one-time lifetime purchase, restoration, and entitlement verification. The app reads product and verified transaction information, including expiry or revocation where applicable, to provide access. Apple handles payment; SplitCam does not receive payment-card details or your Apple Account password.
Apple may supply transaction, sales, or system diagnostics through its platform services and your Apple settings. See Apple's privacy policy. There is no third-party crash-reporting, advertising, attribution, or session-replay SDK in the current app.
Pending recordings and cleanup failures
Completed recordings awaiting a Photos save are kept in an app-managed local pending-save directory outside temporary storage and can survive an App restart. The App checks for completed playable recordings on startup and offers retry; incomplete or unreadable recording files are not a recoverable-video guarantee and may remain. Permission denial or a failed Photos transaction leaves the completed source available for retry. After Photos reports success, the App attempts to mark that source saved and remove it. Failed renaming or removal can leave a local copy; a saved marker normally excludes it from further retries, but an unsuccessful rename can leave it eligible again and produce a duplicate Photos copy. These pending files are separate from gallery deletion and are not an off-device backup. The App also logs save stages, frame counts and error domains/codes through the local system logger, without logging media, filenames or file URLs.
Website and support
Vercel hosts these static pages. Website requests may provide IP address, requested URL, browser or device information, and access time for delivery and security under Vercel's privacy notice. We have not added analytics scripts, advertising pixels, forms, or optional tracking cookies.
If you email captainlongevity@gmail.com, we receive your email address, message, and attachments you choose. We use them to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and meet applicable obligations. Gmail handles email under Google's privacy policy. No gallery item is attached or uploaded to support automatically. Redact private content and send only what the issue requires.
Support correspondence is retained as long as reasonably needed for those purposes; you can request deletion by email. Providers may retain limited technical or backup records under their policies. Website and email information can be processed internationally through the relevant providers; this does not give us access to your local gallery.
Security, rights, and children
Local processing and iOS protections reduce certain risks but do not guarantee absolute security or eliminate the possibility of unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. Protect your device, backups, and shared copies. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, restrict, or object to processing of information we hold, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Contact us for support-data requests; we may need proportionate verification. Use local gallery and Photos controls for media we do not possess.
SplitCam is not designed to solicit children's personal information. If a child has sent personal information through support, contact us so we can address the request. Use must comply with applicable age and consent requirements; local processing is not a claim of suitability for every age.
Policy changes
We may update this policy when app practices or legal requirements change. The last-updated date identifies the current version. Additional notice will be provided when required.
